Game 1:
After giving up 2 runs in the 1st, Dick Bosman held the Twins to 4 runs until the 6th inning. When Harmon Killebrew and Bobby Allison went deep to put Minnesota up 10-2. Minnesota added 4 additional runs to give Jim Perry his 6th win 14-2.
Game 2:
Minnesota jumped on starter Charlie Hough for 10 runs through 5 innings. Twins starter Jim Kaat held Texas to 1 run through 8 innings to notch his 4th victory. Minnesota 11, Texas 2.
Game3:
Minnesota got to starter Doc Medich for3 runs in the 1st and 6 in the 3rd. The Rangers, not to be out done, scored 5 runs and knock starter Jack Kralick out after 5.2 innings. The Twins added 3 more off reliever Jon Matlack while Texas added 4 runs off Bob Porterfield in relief. Al Worthington and Rick Aguilera combined to shutout the Rangers in the final 1.1 innings to preserve the win for Kralick. The Rangers bats smashed 8 HR's including 2 by Larry Parrish while the Twins knocked out 3 including 2 by Harmon Killebrew. Final score Minnesota 14, Texas 9.
