Boston struck early building a 7-1 lead after 5 with home runs by Stephens, Evans, and Doerr. Texas tried to make a game of it by scoring 3 in the sixth and 1 in the 9th but Eckersley held on for the win. Hough the loss. Game MVP Dwight Evans.

Matlack vs Tiant
Boston again struck early Rice and Williams had back to back home runs in the 2nd and were up 4-0 after 3. Texas struck back with 2 in the 4th when Sierra tripled and Howard brought him home with a homerun. Bill The Spaceman Lee came in the seventh to shutdown Texas to get the save. Tiant the win, Matlack the loss. Game MVP Ted Williams.

Ryan vs Kinder
Two leadoff walks followed by a single brought Ted Williams to the plate who singled giving Boston an early 2-0 lead. A squeeze play bunt by Sample made it 2-1. Ted Williams got it back in the bottom of the 3rd with a solo homerun. Two more runs in the 6th and 7th put Boston up 5-1. In the eighth Texas threatened with 2 runs and a runner on second. And no one out. In came Bill ‘The Spaceman’ Lee and he shut the down to get the save. Kinder the win, Ryan the loss. Game MVP Bill The Spaceman Lee
